edit*** i was looking for a program i saw on the news tonight, something called trackcell or trapcell, gives u info for blocked caller ids from companies/telemarketers... the news didnt give a site address, i googled track cell, saw that FEB 17th 2009 tag in the details opened it, and it was the article... my bad, if you read up abit we can see that this actually took effect like last year, but they argued it for a few yrs it seems like.. there was a list of like 6 judges that had all voted against, yet some idiot judge did afterall.. and something about the FBI promised in 1994 when they got a law p***** in their favor for eavesdropping, that theyd never use it for cell phone- thus starts the Star Spangled Lie..

Look, the NSA and other "black-budget" agencies are already doing this. They've been doing stuff like this for years if not for decades. If you believe that you have any sense of privacy in this world you are sadly mistaken.

Yes, it's dreadful when we're all reminded just how vulnerable and accessible our lives are. But if you're not doing anything wrong and if we still have the right to own guns then it's all good my friends.

I was getting ready to ask: how is this news? Where was everyone a year or two ago when that AT&T whistleblower came out with how all traffic routed through their switches is tapped by the NSA? How they targeted journalists and other domestic non-militant groups for surveillance? How AT&T was granted retroactive immunity for compliance with the illegal actions? Any of this ring a bell?

That's not even getting into the old school tinfoil hat stuff like Echelon which has been up and running for years now.

+1 ^^^^^. As Coz mentioned, it is dreadful to think of our vulnerability and the fact that such black bag ops exist. However, I'm fairly certain that "they" don't have a tap going on each and every cell # operating in this country. There's no way that could be maintained. These are government agencies we're talking about. Really, I don't have that much going on in my life that "they" would be interested. I imagine boredom would set in the first 5 minutes of monitoring my number and then "they" would go watch cracks form in the sidewalk.
