Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC
Nice looking phone but I don't like how the screen tilts when you slide the keyboard out. It does not have the wow factor that would make me sell my TP and buy this one. I have a little less than two years on my contract so I'll just wait and see whats out then.

Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC
Afrer some soul searching about the TP2 I'm starting to feel burnt by HTC. How can they be releasing a new product already and not address the issues people are experiencing on the first generation device. i.e. GPS lag, keyboard delay in widescreen mode etc. Where is our firmware updates. Sure there's a million tweaks you can make to help smooth things over but I hold HTC responsible at the end of the day.
Eitherway the main reason I wont be upgrading is the lack of hardware innovation, sure a larger screen is nice, but that doesn't do anything to improve upon Qualcomm's lack of graphics acceleration and performance. The Touch Pro was my third HTC/Qualcomm device and far as I'm concerned will be my last. If HTC wants my business and hard earned green they better start delivering like they mean business. Fist major carrier and OEM to deliver a truly next-gen mobile experience i.e. NVIDIA Tegra or the equivalent will score my business in late 2009/early 2010. |

Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC
Great, annouce the Touch Pro's successor before fixing problems with the first one. No, thanks, HTC.
The Touch Pro 2 is a huge brick. Nearly the size of the iPhone but much thicker. I realize the screen size is bigger, but holy crap that thing is huge. Do not want. The Diamond 2 looks more appealing. If only it had a more useful on screen keyboard. Of course, I'm sure the CDMA version will look like crap compared to the GSM one. Really would've preferred the Touch Pro 2 to be the same footprint as the Diamond 2. -Ed |

Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC
Nevermind about the size, it's less than 3mm thicker than the iPhone, and Apple cheats with their thickness appearance anyways.
Still, HTC better patch the major problems with the Touch Pro before the Touch Pro 2 is out. Either way, I won't be early adopting the Touch Pro 2 like I did the Touch Pro. Of course, if i wait until they fix all the problems with the Touch Pro 2, the Touch Pro 3 will be annouced. : ![]() -Ed |

Re: Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 announced by HTC
Hopefully after HTC takes a butt kickings in missed sales with the Touch Pro 2 they'll actually put some fuctional CPU/GPU power into the Touch Pro 3 -- either way I'm feeling less and less likely to purchase anything from HTC again unless it's powered by someone other than Qualcomm.

[REQ] Next Gen Touchflo 3D port to Diamond?
Is anyone working on porting the latest version of Touchflo used on the Diamond 2 and Pro 2 to the current Diamond? I would love to have some of this functionality, especially the updated contact tab with Facebook updates.
