Re: New pics of the Raphael

I like the extra keys and layout of the the new keyboard, with the whole new row. But I do miss having a numeric phone layout for the numbers. Give and take, I guess. And I'll have to get used to the keyboard sliding the other way, although that always made more sense to me, anyway. Wonder where the stylus is this time, though, because the current location's completely illogical.

The other specs look great. I just hope Sprint doesn't strip too much of the goodness from it.

My guess is that it will use the same TouchFLO 3D as the Diamond with a black and yellow sprint color scheme, a Sprint logo on the front, maybe Sprint TV and Music. I really dont see them doing any more damage beyond that.

Sprint and other carriers have modified the hardware before, stripping out the front camera, and oftentimes gimping other specs. That's what I'm talking about. I'm all but certain the front camera will go, but nervous about what else they might do.

And I can't wait until someone manages to hack out the awful yellow-and-black for the TouchFLO. Hopefully, though, they'll make it an option to change that internally.

Re: New pics of the Raphael

looks sick!!! defenetey my next ppc, the only thing that i dont like about it t is the screen size compared to the whole face, i wish that it could have been basically all screen in the face, two digital send-end keys at the bottom and keyboard for the hardware fans

Re: New pics of the Raphael

the phone looks sweet I admit just one minor gripe
soft keys
on the 6700 and the 6800 there were two keys that were mapped to press send/contact or cancel or something...
where's that

Huh? The send/end keys are right on the front where they've always been. The other two front keys are Home and Back.

I'm not liking the flush touchscreen unless they use a capacitive screen (they're too cheap for that) and the lack of hard buttons. The Raphael has no hard buttons on either side.

He's not referring to the phone Send/End, he's referring to the soft buttons that map to onscreen buttons, like Send and Menu in e-mail, for instance. I believe they dropped these because with them use capacitive buttons instead of hard buttons, and the touchscreen being flush with the front, it's just as easy to hit the on-screen implementations as it was to hit the physical buttons, so they become unnecessary.

I am concerned with the decrease in side buttons, though. I use mine quite a bit, and have them heavily customized. The scroll wheel is gone, too, which I use quite often.

Are you 100% sure about the screen being capacitive? HTC has never done one before.

I thought I was the only one who thought the stylus location was horrible. Phone looks sweet.
