Freezing Issues?

Not sure why I'm experiencing freezing with such a monstrously spec phone, but after a few weeks I am having serious issues with the phone freezing for minutes at a time !

I keep getting errors that say "Activity Home (the actual program depends on whatever action I was taking - e.g. Home Screen or gmail) is not responding", and then it asks me if I want to force close it. This is my first android phone so i'm not entirely sure what this means. I haven't rooted or done anything like that, so could it be some program i've installed? I'm about ready to completely wipe the phone and start over, but wanted to know if there was some way I could troubleshoot the issue.

Freeze up could be related to poor signal. The phone searching for and obtaining a connection takes priority over everything else. Try going into Settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile networks and set Network Mode to Automatic.

Also a rogue app app or widget could be stuck on a data sync. Disable any apps or widgets from syncing data temporarily.

A force close issue could be related to a corrupt file, or an app or widget not working correctly.

It might be time to do a Factory Data Reset to dump phone memory. Your Calendar, Contacts, Emails and purchased Market apps will be maintained on Google for reloading.....

although im experiencing issues with my new phone, i still like and am giving it a chance, mine locked once, when i put a widget on the home screen, it locked with a mssg, "widget could not be installed, sprint reset the phone, still onlything it will do is a emergency phone call, heading to repair ctr this am....probly gonna get a replacenment...in my mind, all new devices to thru the "issues period", im hoping all this is is, is a "issue" that will be addressed......go photon!

WELL a few updates came in, on my way to sprint, rebooted the phone, the rep made a few tweaks to cdma, and yes, the PHONE ROCKS~ im getting surpurb wifi and sprint connection everywhere, where with my evo whick i loved got maybe 2 bars at best, poor wifi unless i was camped out in front of the airave....im gonna miss the evo, but not as much or as long as i thought if this keeps like it is now....
