Re: What are your top 5 apps?
www Grooveshark com is developing an Android version that is available for a sneak peek to VIP users. For those of you who don't know, Grooveshark is a free music player that allows you to play any song imaginable and also create custom playlists for free.
(The VIP version is $3 a month) Last edited by HemDroid; 01-18-2010 at 10:00 PM. |

Home++ - vs. - LauncherPRO...
Greetings.
I, too, enjoy the SPEED of this app, over and above most else. Over the past 6 months, I have sampled most of the major app launcher programs on the market - both free ans well as paid, and this is hands down the fastest/smoothest around. Now, if only it had the FEATURES that Home++ has, as THAT program/app ALREADY HAS such great features as a task bar icons that can not only be slid back and forth - horizontally, but you can pick and choose which ones you want to use/show. Furthermore,if you are in the "app library", and decide to remove one, when you hold down the icon - you get a prompt to remove it. A similar option is featured, when you are running an app, and just want to close it/turn it off, you simply hold down the lower left "return" button... and it closes, freeing up system memory. There are MANY more features in this home launcher, too. I know, you're saying, "Well - if Home++ is 'all that' - why not just use it?" I would - if it wasn't so dang slow - for example, when I select to use the dial pad, it takes nearly 15 to 22 seconds to appear on the screen; really. After all, this IS a PHONE...! What's more, Home++ seems to be FC'ing nearly ALL the time, forcing home launch restarting... on my outta-the-box, non-rooted Motorola DROID... running version 2.1.1 I truly like Home++, but the developer of same hasn't done anything with it for well over a month, nor has he or she been receptive to any emails. So, it looks like our LauncherPRO may be the next Holy Grail of apps - if it can incorporate the features that made Home++ so popular! I'll be MOST eager to see what is next...!

I had a couple questions about the two apps I left in your quote above please 1. Can you view and control literally anything as if you were on your computer at home, even Microsoft Word Documents or other programs/software that obviously isn't compatible on a cell phone or with Droid? 2. The File Manager app, Windows Mobile has something like this built in, although not great. Does Droid come with something as well, but this is simply an upgrade? When you say you can send files as attachments, can't you do that using the Email client on the cell phone and selecting "add file" in the menu? THANKS!
