Re: Any droid users have iphone/ipod touch experience?
well, the mail applications sucks on the droid. right out of the box, it doesn't even support attachments unless they are JPEGs. you can get around that by downloading Linda file manager and using the "send to" dropdown menu in it to attach files, but it's a pain. there are several more flaws to it along with a general crappiness you feel when using it. i actually preferred winmo's mail client. there are other clients you can download from the app store though. i've heard that K9 is supposed to be pretty good. not sure though.
on the other hand, the browser is excellent. i've never seen one quite so good on anything but the iphone/ipod. i think it's at least as good as the iphone/ipod's and probably better because of the droid's screen having a higher resolution. i have no trouble viewing the text of the entire page zoomed out. no pixelation and crystal-clear. there is some debate about the iphone having a faster browser, but i haven't seen any real proof of that. the only thing the iphone has over the droid is the multitouch pinch-to-zoom gesture. on the droid you have to double-tap to zoom. personally, i don't care about that, since i never had a chance to get used to that on the iphone, but some people are really turned off by that. of course, it's only a matter of time until we can enable multitouch on the droid, since the euro version already has it. on top of that, flash 10 is coming to android in the beginning of 2010, so we'll have the first fully-functional browser on a mobile device. |

I have Iphone 3g and 3gs and bought the Droid friday when they came out. I feel that Droid has many pluses. Screen is Droids by far. Phone part is also Droids by far. Much clearer and no dropped calls. I prefer Droids looks I am really sick of all the Iphone look alikes. For the area I live in the Droid beats the Iphone Internet. Even in 3g for both Droid a little better to me. What can I say about the navagation it is so sweet!
Music is smoother on I Phone. Sounds just as good on Droid when playing maybe better but that is subjective.I phone is simpler out the box but I think that is because Droid is so open. Pictures are equal. Both display very well. That being said camera's on both need a little work. I think software should correct any issues with Droid. Software will never fix lack of flash. Battery is stroner on Droid. Same use I Phone will drain first every time. Now let me say this I have had 3 software up dates on 3gs. It corrected most of problems but not all. Droid better on this release than 3gs on its release. |

Re: Any droid users have iphone/ipod touch experience?
i must agree with windsponge on the music app. it actually does seem to sound better on the droid. even without a built-in equalizer, the levels appear to be perfect. i experimented with my bluetooth stereo headset (jabra) and the phone works amazingly well with it. the avrcp controls work perfectly and without lag and the bass is finally high enough to enjoy my music even at low volume.

Re: Any droid users have iphone/ipod touch experience?
I wish droid could support an equalizer cuz my speakers at work hate bass. There is one player that has one in the marketplace, but i want one that controls all programs like pandora and slacker. One like audio booster on winmo...

you could also compared the browsers on the pre, android, and iphone they're based on the webkit thingy...
but i think the browser on the hero is getting close to winmo, but can't compete with opera browser... my 2 cents |

I would have to agree with this. It kills me to take apples side but it is very true. I tethered my ipod touch and my TP2 as well. And it is very fast!
