Re: Internet Sharing app?
we need to have root access to be able to install it, which has not been achieved yet, and from what it looks like may have to wait for the firmware update on the 11th of december
EDIT: Foot-in-mouth: pdanet will let you tether without root. http://junefabrics.com/

Re: Internet Sharing app?
Many reports that pdanet works on the Droid.
Just google "pdanet for android" and follow the install instructions. Assuming you have Windows. I've read that people need the Moto drivers from here - so it wouldn't hurt to install these first: http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v/...008806b00aRCRD I have Win7 and I followed the pdanet instructions but it failed installing the ADB driver (which is included in the pdanet install). But an ADB driver can be had by registering and getting the android sdk, but I still couldn't get pdanet to run and connect up to my Droid. But that's a Win7 issue, I believe. |

Re: Internet Sharing app?
I bet it wont take long for the Windows7 compatibility to catch up. Unfortunately this phone was being developed before the release of W7, but with W7 being as popular as it is you know they'll be scrambling to fix compatibility issues . I may have to hold off on a new laptop purchase till they get everything ironed out though.

Re: Internet Sharing app?
I've been using it fulltime since the spring. This is about the only thing I've found that worked with Vista (I assume it works with Vista?) and not Win7 - I even got rid of my XP and Vista boot partitions. So now I'm debating going back to XP, or at least throw one of my XP images on here.
I use Win7 on my hometheater pc too - hd video/audio support, and dual hd display support, has significant improvements over Vista. Last edited by Humpa; 11-08-2009 at 12:17 PM. |

Re: Internet Sharing app?
Has anyone gotten this to work yet? We are looking at these phones to replace HTC Diamond phones but we all use tethering and need this for our Windows 7 laptops. I understand that Verizon is wanting to charge 30$ a month for this? Any news is appreciated!
