Considering its a capacitive touch screen, your nails wont work on it...

Another question: I am going to be switching from a TouchPro to this phone. If I don't use an exchange server, what's the best way to get all my information onto the Droid? I would like to avoid going to a store and using Cellebrite if possible. I am looking into Googlesync but don't really want another email address (don't use gmail right now). |

Good question, I synced them in from exchange and GMail, but the store I got my phone from did offer to move my contacts from my old phone to it.. not sure how they'd go about it... |

Well, if activate means to open the app store, yes, you do. Don't need it to 'use' the phone otherwise from what i could tell. I did have a google account, (not gmail enabled) and it forced me to pick out a gmail email address.

Re: So Far So Good [[minireview]]
Yeah I didn't have a Gmail account until today. It wasn't required to activate the phone, but it is required to get apps from the Android shop.

Re: So Far So Good [[minireview]]
iced98LX, i agree with you. have had the phone since 6AM, and am impressed with the build and "feel". the body is metal (aluminum i'm assuming) which makes it feel great in the hand. Very responsive screen/display, after many years of resistive screens (this is my first capacitive screen). I'd match this to an iPhone screen anyday.
The physical keyboard is fine, not as good as a full blackberry keyboard, but more than adequate. The onscreen keyboard is decent too. Nice that it comes bundled with a 16gb microSD card. I recently returned the HTC Imagio, which had great hardware but flawed software. So far Android 2.0 has lived up to the hype. Very snappy and responsive, even with a bunch of widgets running.
