Re: should i exchange my droid for incredible?
On exchange, I don't think the cost difference is worth it, but if you can hold out wait the rest of your 30 exchange days see how you like the Droid, and by then the cost of the Incredible should come down a little.
(update) Yup 99$ @ amazon all ready lol http://www.amazon.com/HTC-INCREDIBLE...2546086&sr=1-1 (bah jumped back to 150$) I love the look on the HTC Incredible. Also Since I've destroyed a Droid all ready (broke the screen) I'd get the incredible just for the OLED (since oled don't shatter; If i break this one I'm upgrading to the best OLED available and taking my fathers upgrade lol). But both phone's are great, Another thing about the Incredible, is developer wise a lot of the better developers are invested in the Droid or Nexus one, So getting rom's and kernal updates might be a little slower over all. (see how the eris got left in the dust It has one 2.1 stock rom and a really getto root lol) Last edited by BryanGT; 04-30-2010 at 03:13 AM. |

Re: should i exchange my droid for incredible?
I might be mistaken but I think the incredible's screen is glass since it is a capacitive setup.

Re: should i exchange my droid for incredible?
I think it uses:
Foldable OLED: Foldable OLEDs have substrates made of very flexible metallic foils or plastics. Foldable OLEDs are very lightweight and durable. Their use in devices such as cell phones and PDAs can reduce breakage, a major cause for return or repair. Potentially, foldable OLED displays can be attached to fabrics to create "smart" clothing, such as outdoor survival clothing with an integrated computer chip, cell phone, GPS receiver and OLED display sewn into it. I could be wrong, but then again they might put glass on top of the oled for the capacitive input/*protection*. If that's the case, then the Droid was setup the same way, because the glass on top spider cracked, and the picture was fine also the touch inputs worked fine. Re: should i exchange my droid for incredible?
I say get it while you can. The only reason I can think of to stay with the droid if I were in your position would be the support and customization that the Droid has. I'm sure the incredible will soon have it too though. I think you'll be happy you switched in the long run.

Re: should i exchange my droid for incredible?
I was thinking today and laughing at the notion that the droid and droid eris are now considered old technology with the incredible being out. and to me its interesting because up to this point vz was always slow to introduce new smart phones, and now there coming out rapid fire.

Re: should i exchange my droid for incredible?
I have an overclocked droid as well, went to verizon this weekend to see and try out the incredible, my droid actually ran programs faster than the incredible! my browser was almost 5 seconds faster (using the standard browser, not skyfire). I cleared both cashe's and opened Pocketnow.com on both at the same time.
Since you are still in the 30 day plan, and if you really want one, I say go for it. Just think how much faster you could get that with overclocking the incredible! But since I am not due for an upgrade for a while, I am very happy with my faster droid!!! |
