Similar to the last update this will be pushed out over time. Might take a few days before you see it.

well that would explain why my droid wouldn't turn on the other day and I had never shut it off,

I had to pop out the battery and put it back in to load it up, must have gotten it overnight.

Nope, when you get an update it shows up in your Notification area just like an email/text/appupdate/etc and it doesn't install or anything until you tell it to go ahead and install.

That's odd. Mine did the exact same thing about a week ago. It has never done it before or since. WEIRD?!?

That's kina interesting. My Droid did the exact same thing too... I just brushed it off and rebooted.

If I'm not mistaken, I had such an occurrence however my build number stills sits at ESD56. What about y'all? Wouldn't it be showing 59 if we got the patch?

There are actually a number of sources that have said it was supposed to happen on the 22nd. One forum administrator stated that their source has never been wrong on either BlackBerry or Droid updates, so this is certainly unusual and we are likely to hear something about the delay by Monday.

It's kind of telling that Motorola is not denying that an update is imminent, just that it hasn't happened and they can't comment on official timing.

The reasoning for this is you can bet that Motorola / Google wants 2.1 pushed to the Droid before the 27th to take away some of the thunder from Apple's announcement. The problem is if they announce it ahead of time and it doesn't happen, it makes them look bad.

That having been said, I expect the update to be announced on the same day that it happens.
