Re: Motorola Droid Maintenance Release Prelude to Android 2.1
Similar to the last update this will be pushed out over time. Might take a few days before you see it.

Nope, when you get an update it shows up in your Notification area just like an email/text/appupdate/etc and it doesn't install or anything until you tell it to go ahead and install.

That's kina interesting. My Droid did the exact same thing too... I just brushed it off and rebooted.

If I'm not mistaken, I had such an occurrence however my build number stills sits at ESD56. What about y'all? Wouldn't it be showing 59 if we got the patch?

It's kind of telling that Motorola is not denying that an update is imminent, just that it hasn't happened and they can't comment on official timing. The reasoning for this is you can bet that Motorola / Google wants 2.1 pushed to the Droid before the 27th to take away some of the thunder from Apple's announcement. The problem is if they announce it ahead of time and it doesn't happen, it makes them look bad. That having been said, I expect the update to be announced on the same day that it happens. |
