we both have this issue.
Yours are newer than mine then. I bought mine on Dec. 11 after the update came out. Must not be a specific issue with the older ones then.

Maybe these defective ones were built on a Friday.

Re: call quality

I haven'd had any complaints about my end of the call. I have noticed that the speaker makes the call sound more "digital" than other phones I have owned though.

Re: call quality

How's speaker phone?
Have you tried a voice recorder to see if the quality is the same there?
With my phone I can hear my own voice through the phone's earpiece.... can you hear this and does it sound loud and clear to you?

Re: call quality

I have no complaints on speaker phone either. I use it frequently and it sounds very clear on my end, and I never get claims of bad quality on the other end. As far as I know, they can't even tell they are on speaker phone.

Re: call quality

I have to talk directly into the mic or people cry about not hearing me. I second that digital/fax/modem sound every once in a while??? I knew there was gonna be some mild issues going with this phone near release, but I feel the problems will be fixed over time.

Re: call quality

there is suposed to be noise cancleation technology built in the phones but programming is not using it but maybe it is a=cting up. The other thing try to cup your hand on the back side it might make a difference. I think most speakers that are on the back of the phone sound louder if you cup your hand around the back of the phone so it might make since to do that to the microphone so that it blocks out interference3 noise
