Droids contacts went missing...help

My wifes contacts were imported from her AT&T LG Shine phone and yesterday they all disappeared...the contact screen says you have no contacts, please input or sync now.

The weird thing is she can search the name and it is there, but doesn't show in the list...

Any ideas?

Re: Droids contacts went missing...help

odds are their linked with your phone's Gmail, so you can recover them there if you "had" a gmail account synced with your phone. An I hear the Unsync with gmail client host is a problem you should exchange your droid for some 1 of every 100 have it.

Re: Droids contacts went missing...help

If you can search them, they are likely just not set to be displayed in your contacts list.

-Open 'Contacts' from your application list
-hit the menu key then select 'display options'
-here you can expand all the contact lists on your phone by taping the arrow right icon then enabling/disabling them.
((This is the most likely culprit))

Re: Droids contacts went missing...help

We did sign her market up with her dummy gmail account that doesn't have contacts nor did we get a "do you want to sync contacts". The only option in display options is facebook...

Is there a program that is available in the market that saves them either on the memory card or internet cloud like Microsoft My Phone?

Re: Droids contacts went missing...help

If the contacts were transferred through a cellbrite machine the contacts should still be on the SD card. Try importing from SD card again.

-Open 'Contacts' from your application list
-hit the menu key then select 'import/export'
-import from SD card.

You will need to import them to some sync service so gmail or something of the like.

Re: Droids contacts went missing...help

Ok...I imported from Memory card, it shows it importing 100 contacts, and when complete...it says no contacts with phone numbers...wtf?

Also, under the contacts tab it still shows nothing but "You don't have any contacts to display...etc etc etc" but when I go to the favorites tab I am there, and when I click on it it shows all my information. Yet not under the tab.

Going to Verizon today to see what's going on.

Went in, they didn't know what was up, so they gave her a new phone. Let's see if this one is messed or not

Re: Droids contacts went missing...help

Just saw this topic and had to share:

I work at Verizon and we have had several come in with random contacts or all contacts being deleted. I want to say they told us this is a known defect. I have not researched it but now I could see it being so.

Re: Droids contacts went missing...help

Thanks Courtney, good to know. Something is definately up... doesn't seem to be able to import the contacts onto the phone itself.

I use OMA/Active Sync so I just do everything through Outlook.
