Re: Unlocking GSM On The LG Fathom?
This is a manual Verizon programming, but can also be used to operate the phone on other CDMA networks.
Your best bet is to find a company that offers LG Worldwide or LG Global phone unlocking services. I saw a few that even claimed they had unlock codes for the Fathom. They're about $10USD and would be worth it, as most will refund the money if the unlock is not possible. I'd try those first. Good luck. |

Re: Unlocking GSM On The LG Fathom?
Okay so I used GSM Liberty.net and purchased their unlocking service, but in their Code Entry Knowledge base they don't have the Fathom listed...
Can anyone help out and tell me what to do in order to tget to the code entry stage of the procedure? Thanks |

Re: Unlocking GSM On The LG Fathom?
Is this this the correct way...
1. Insert sim card from network which is phone currently working 2. Enter unlock sequence mode 2945#*xxx# where xxx is the model of LG phone numbers(for example, for KU990 enter 2945#*990#, GT540 enter 2945#*540#). 3. Then you get a hidden menu where you can enter unlock code. 4. Enter unlock code. And do this in dialer and press send or what exactly? Or can I unlock it through Phone Options > Security > SIM Lock Last edited by n1nj4Lo; 02-16-2012 at 08:56 AM. |

Re: Unlocking GSM On The LG Fathom?
I do have a Verizon fathom bought in Brooklyn but used in a overseas 850 GSM provider.
No problem whatsoever, just insert my SIMcard from my old phone, turn it on, choose not register in my home Verizon CDMA partner, set it to GSM mode (with some annoying global switch pop ups everytime I enter into a basement) and enjoy my fathom. No need to unlock anything since is already factory unlocked (I mean the GSM part of it). |
