It lags if you try to answer by pushing the answer button on the screen. If you push the the green hardware answer button it answers instantly . Problem with the custom dial pad. Had a buddy call several times to make sure it was the on screen button.

I believe once I was actually using Opera. Another time I had CHT editor open but I assume the actually data connection was on when the phone rang.

The two times I was able to answer nothing else was actively being used. There was a delay but I was ultimately able to make the connection.

Hope that is helpful. I will try to troubleshoot when I get my hands on my kids phone later.

Still I have not required one single battery pull which is a great sign. I had gone from Drellisdee back to the 3/25 Orange ROM and I think this is so much better than both.

I'll chime in if I can figure out anything else pertaining to the lag. I did a hard reset but that didn;t solve it.

Meant to say answer slide ( on screen ), not button.

Found it..., jbh00jh, its nothing related to the slide screen....

After updating the phone canvas i did not notice two regs changing the value for SuspendResume inside HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings, the current value makes the phone "not know" how to suspend the internet connection to answer a call, causing that "lag"...

That does not happen if your internet connection is not on.

This should be happening on 1.7 as well. Im testing two possibities real quick, and will be posting a cab to fix it...

Re: [ROM] MyCleanImagio-21874 Apr/19th [Build 1.8]

Okay.

1)First thing I found on my phone was under Phone>Settings>Advanced the check box for Headset Pickup was not checked but the number 3 for Answer Automatically was highlighted and selectable. I checked the Headset Pickup box and unchecked which disabled the number of rings.

2) had my sales partner call me. I used the hardware answer which took 10 seconds to put the call through. I was on bluetooth but this was same as my experience with the phones earpiece.

3) Got a call on call waiting. Used hardware button. Call came right through no problem. Interesting. Wish I new more about this stuff but it sounds like its a dialer issue. I've had many issues with various ROMs but the dialer or answering has never been and issue I've faced.

The data slider does seem to go off and on. Not all apps require that so I am not sure if there is anything associated with performance except for opera.

Everything else works like a charm.

That sounds like what I have heard with the other roms I have tested , seams like everyone is having trouble with the phone canvases.

Wirelessly posted (XV6975 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

does this contribute to the data connection instability out are they separate issues.

the only fix I have found is to turn off the radio with airplane mode then turn it back on to get data once I lose it

Yes, and no at the same time... i've been reading a lot about it (since the Treo 300! lol)

1-) Everyone wants the internet connection to auto-disconnect... most of the patches includes a string "~GPRS!" to the SuspendResume which together with CacheTime set to 60 does disconnect the data connection after 60 seconds of idle...(HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings)

2-) By doing that... it does enables the auto data disconnect, but breaks the CDMA phone capability to suspend/terminate the data connection to take the call (GSM works fine)... (no internet and calls at the same time for CDMA...)... the correct string for the SuspendResume must be "#777", enabling the phone to turn off data connection before taking a call.

3-) Unfortunatelly it seems there is no "fix" for that yet (auto-disconnection + fix answer call lag.. its one or another! lol)... unless we could come with a third party program that monitors the data connection running on the background...(at the TP2 forum there is a post that has a different setting for SuspendResume, the user claims it does work fine enabling auto-disconnect and deal with the issue with call+data connection... tried on a few phones Touch Pro, Treo Pro, Imagio, the result ... internet connection not stable... disconnects even if you are using it...lol)

Anyway, here is the cab... which has the same settings from versions 1.4 and 1.5... which does not include any auto data disconnection setting but does fix the answer call lag... just install it... wait a few seconds and soft reset your phone... you will be able to answer the calls, data will be disconnected, after sliding the phone, there is a delay programmed of four seconds, to give enough time to disconnect data... (1.7 and 1.8 had the wrong settings which were changed by one of the packages applied... and I did not noticed it!)

Please understand that if you install any registry mod to enable auto data disconnection, you may have problems again with lag answering calls with data connected...

jbh00jh, the same happens with the htc phone skin disabled using the original wm6.5 phone...so everyone blames the phone canvas for this issue and I agree it does look like that lol cause it "freezes" right after you slide the bar..., but it seems it's just particular to the CDMA system and our phones. (not a big deal for me, i just got used to disconnect it manually...a few programs do have that option, arcsoft mms for example... to auto-disconnect after use)

If anyone had tried something different successfully, please post....

[EDIT] Here is the link for the TP2 mentioned above http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91853

Had my wife call several times and the slider worked fine after the cab was installed. No lag whatsoever.
