The only difference in the today screen is that the Plain version has the stock Verizon toolbar where the Customized one has a custom toolbar. I have the Plain version . You can customize it to your needs if you cnoose to do so.
Other than the toolbars they look the same.

Flashed Plain 1.1 and it is blazing fast. Booted up at 48% 97MBs free rom and 228MBs free storage. Everything I used worked flawlessly and fast. No freezes or lags. anyone who wants a clean fast rom better jump all over this rom.

Thank you very much, and thank you for your feedback on the earlier versions as well, that helps a lot... now we need to "finetune" the rom, details that we missed... same with the Build 1.2 with customizations... i don't think we need to add more to them, although im open to suggestions for sure... Thank you again.

If you are on verizon, they might work without any problems since all settings are cooked in. If you are on Cricket, im 100% sure it works flawless... Windows Live Mail/Youtube works on cricket with the help of Proxicap, tunneling all info/data through cricket's proxy... i have not seem any program that does not work on Cricket with Proxycap...i use all of them plus Facebook, MySpace, Netflix, Email, etc... they all work great, the same might happen with Verizon... keep me posted.. The programs are working, if I missed anything provisioning, I can fix it...

jbh00jh is right, they look pretty much the same except the taskbar and startmenu icon customization... although the roms are really different when it comes to optimizations... the Plain rom is "lighter" and faster after the 1st Boot... the Customized rom is "heavier", and customized to "maintain" performance on the long run... mine for example(1.2)...was a 72% ram memory usage before going to bed (testing all programs, downloading stuff, etc)... in the morning... was at 56%... anyway, as jbh00jh said, you may try it.. as see what you think... please give feedback ok? I'm using the PLain 1.1 ROM and I'm having trouble sending/receiving MMS. When I put one together and press send, I get the following error:

HTTP: ADD REQUEST HEADER FAILED

I modified the server address to include my phone number but still no go. The Plain 1.1 is exactly what I want in a custom ROM - a light and basic foundation I can tweak to my liking - everything else is really nice and responsive. I hope you all can help me work thru the MMS issue.

Just a check, looking at my server settings, I'm connecting via "The Internet" on Port 80. No other settings to speak of.

Looks like ArcSoft MMS COmposer V 5.2.6.45 is what' baked in.

Secondary Issue: How do you change the MMS send limit? There's a pull down menu that caps the size at 300K. Could it be higher?

One other Issue I just noticed with the Plain 1.1 ROM: The battery meter is staying topped off at 100%. I just got a low battery warning, clicked on the Notification Bar, and my Batt is at 10%. The taskbar is still showing 100.

Thank you, i check into that... the default connection supposed to be 3G Network, not "The Internet"...

Plain Build 1.2 will have that fixed... for sure...thank you again...

ps.: I cannot test the verizon settings cause I'm on Cricket....

i'm pretty new at this regarding winmo, so please excuse my n00bness if this is covered somewhere or isn't possible, but is there a way to use the 2.05.75WVL radio (the one from the orange ROM builds) as it is one of the few that gives me a fairly constant 3G connection.

i really like this rom, but the radio reception for me is really poor...

Custom roms are almost always OS only and don't flash radio. Here are the whit_W radios I collected if you want to try another : http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=112831

for the life of me i can't figure out why my reception when to crap this morning. it was literally work at 10am and then it got super flakey after what seems to be me installing a different ROM.

now i just have to find a small microsd card

Just installed 1.2 and can't find any of the vcast stuff? Did I miss something?
