I have a hell of a time syncing with my exchange network every time I flash. I can eventually sync but I get a connection error 5+ times. Does anyone else have this issue and know of a more reliable way to successfully sync the phone?

I have seen this behavior in the past, so what I typically do is set up the connection parameters and then soft-reset the phone. It will usually sync the first time after that. Of course - YMMV!

Are you talking about a soft reset ? Take your battery out , put it back in and push down the end key until you feel it reset.
