Purchased Copilot Live 8 GPS software (it is on sale this week) and am currently downloading it. Are there any instructions for how to install this on the Imagio with Energy ROM and the procedure to be followed before and after each ROM update to reinstall the Copilot GPS software? Hope it is as easy as installing a CAB file without having to reinstall maps and settings.

I do not have a data plan (paying by the download) and can't use Google Maps or Bing Maps when traveling. Purchased the Copilot software hoping it works out as a regular GPS without requiring a data connection.

I have Copilot on my 16GB SD card. After each flash of EnergyRom (which is about weekly for me) I just go into the 2577 folder on the SD card and hit AUTORUN to install if again. The nice thing is your favorites, settings, etc are stored on your SD Card for Copilot so you preserve those. Only extra thing you have to do is register it again via Mobile Internet using the email/password you have setup with copilot. Doing that, loading Seven to get my corporate email, and changescreen so I can get the auto-rotate to work are the only 3 things I do extra after a rom flash...oh, I also import my CHT and Energy settings to. All in all takes me about 15 minutes to be back in full business after flashing a new energyrom.

I can't remember when was the last time I used a NRG ROM with working YouTube but they work quite well on the FullDeck ROMs and the VeryClean ROMs.

fraser2012 - Thanks for the reply. Do you install Copilot 8 to the Device or to the SD card? I installed it to the device and hope that is correct and that all I have to do is to reinstall and register like you said. Please confirm.

coolpoete - It has been at least 2 months since I checked YouTube. I know it worked in one of the old ROMs. Does either the FullDeck ROM or the VeryClean ROM allow plus code dialing or have Assisted Dialing built in? What are the main differences with Energy ROM? Don't want to exchange one set of problems for another. Which one would you suggest for mainly phone calls and text with occasional surfing off WiFi and also trouble-free operation on GSM when out of the country? The last will be very important right now since I plan to travel in a couple of weeks. Thanks!

@Bawaji:
I don't see the settings for the plus code dialing that you are referring to, however these roms use HTC messaging client which is completely different than the Imagio roms so you may want to try to see if it works any different for you. I don't send international SMS so I can't fully test that feature.

Other than that check out my signature for additional info. on the ROMs. The major differences are that you have to set up the data connection and set the MMS server, which is no big deal to me. The ROMs are older and they use the older version of CHT 2.0 and they don't have alot of the newly updated programs that NRG puts in his ROM like the updated Bing, Microsoft Myphone, etc. Again, this can be easily fixed by just installing CABs.

Flashing can be a bit tedious. Eboelzner's Fulldeck gave me an error when I flashed the first time which caused me to have to reflash again and the same can be said for the VeryClean ROM. I had an issue with the timezone settings on the Very Clean ROM and the Location setting did not want to work but eventually I figured it out. I'm not sure what I did but reflashing may have helped. Both ROMs were cooked using the same kitchen. The download link to the November 3rd VeryClean ROM is no good so you have to use a previous one. In a nutshell, you have to put your own work into these ROMs than you would with NRG.

However, the biggest and most important difference to me is that over time there is no sluggishness that occurs. I have had the same ROM for 2 weeks now and I have not had a reason to soft reset at the end of the day or experience any lockups. The VeryClean ROM gives me alot of available free RAM throughout the day as well. I can't say that others will have the same experiences. I do miss the asthetics and design of NRG's ROMs but I'll take the smooth operation/stability over looks right now.

(Ringer only rings in the bluetooth headset if bluetooth is connected, the handset will not ring when connected)
any help would be great.

Same thing here on Sencity. I just uploaded the Nov 25 version and no phone options whatsoever. No way to change from GSM to CDMA nor to apply password to voicemail. Hoping NRG can provide a cab.

I've sent problem's description to NRG in PM. No answer.... but I hope will be fixed next version. For now I'm using version of PDAVIET because of that.
