it probably won't work that way (I haven't tried personally), I recommend you find another internet connection, but if you absolutely cannot get to another internet connection, send us a ticket about this issue and I'll sort it for you.

FWIW, I had this concern as far as being able to flash while tethered and another forum member related how he tethered and did it successfully so I tried it and while skeptical about it working, it DID! I downloaded the hspl file then openned it on my desktop while tethered and it installed and unlocked my imagio just fine. Have no clue regarding doing it untethered, just sharing my experience as I know alot of us tether as our only internet connection................. btw: I use pda net if it would make any diff.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is killing me!!!!!!!

i open the program and the screen comes up that say "automatic or manual" and when it goes to do it's thing it says "seems like the phone has been inlocked. Pay us and we'll help you unlock it" what's up with that. I'm ready to roll and I can't even UNLOCK i can't take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


It says "we have detected that you appear to already have unlocked another device. Make sure the radio is on and retry"

I have re-tried 15 times. My radio is on. I never unlocked before in my life. any ideas???


EDIT: forget it. I just paid and it let me do it. don't know why i had to but I don't care and would of donated at the end anyways....

Is the manual way hard???

manual isnt to be used unless it is a last resort. and glad that you got it to work... prolly when the first failed due to your virus protection or firewall it read you as unlocking.

We did find a way to make it work and if you would like I can write it up for you to include in the instructions. There is one version of wifi sharing that will allow you to activsync at the same time.

now the question is.... is there anyway to flash from sd without having to remove the back cover to reset?

Probably had to do with your internet connection, took me about 4 hours last night to tether and get signal enough to use the HSPL.

Manual is not hard its actually what i've been used to running old roms and unlockers on my touch pro almost every week, you just need to go over check lists that make sure your phone is connected properly and has enough battery..etc other than that its pretty much just point and click but some people are "technically challeneged" so the Auto makes it easier..

Anyone who is trying to tether and unlock their phone, this link given by Nica works its on page 3, i tried using WMWifiRouter before and i couldnt get it to work till i tried this.

After unlocking my phone and dialing *228 to update roaming I noticed the dialer screen showed "SPL Unlocked". Does anyone think that info gets back to Verizon causing any problems down the line like warranty (after relocking and flashing back to stock). Do they monitor this stuff and give you any kind grief for messing with your phone?

It shows unlocked even with the original verizon hspl. I think it has to unlock briefly for the update over the phone via #228. Maybe someone else can confirm, but thats the way I understand, so no worries.

Cbreze, you beat me to it. You are 100% correct. I noticed that before and made a mental note of it. It always says that for some reason. Actually someone asked a question months ago if that meant the phone was unlocked (thats how i remembered it). It's funny how I remember little things like that but can't remember important things.......

So, I am thinking of jumping on the ship, and unlock - load ROM. I have a few questions, as I can't seem to find an answer after checking out this post and a few others.

These custom roms are made by individuals based on thier personal prefrences, like a custom car designer. Which chef has a track record of creating ROMS for a 50/35/15 gaming / texting / calling phone? I currently have a butt load of games on my phone, and text crazy to wife and kids, and finally use it to make calls. I check stocks daily, as well as my Phoenix Coyotes, and of course PPC and XDA. So I need a ROM that allows me good speed for games, stable texting, and internet quickness.

When I flash in the new ROM, if I need any service, I need to return ROM to stock, or just get the relocker?

Internet connection, I keep hearing about tethering. Have no idea what that is. I would do this flashing on my home laptop, which has internet connection via wireless modem to the home desktop. Is that more than enough? And the internet connection is wicked stable, and strong enough where I can use it at the next block.

The unlocker program, would that come with the custom rom, or do I need to get one from somewhere else?

I think thats enough noob questions for now.

I love my Imagio, but like the look of TF3D 2.5, so am willing to take this step. So one last question, can I brick this phone and make it absolutely unusable, or just loose everything on it?

Ugh, sounds like I could go for really new interface but under 100% stable, or stay with 100% stable but old interface......Is it normal for these issues to be so prevelant? Are these typical bugs in new programs / ROMs that eventually get addressed and corrected, or just some of the little 'quirks' that we have to live with?

I was showing a guy in my office my unlocked & flashed phone and since he has the same phone, he wanted me to do his. Problem is, when I tried to unlock, I was given a message saying I had already unlocked a phone and couldn't unlock another one.

Do I need to donate to be able to unlock his?

I can't help you with a different solution BUT just so you know the same exact thing happened to me. I just donated the $4 and i worked perfectly. I was going to donate at the end anyways. But if you don't want to donate, someone told me it may have been because of anti virus or a not good internet connection. My internet is great here so I don't think it was that. Maybe it was the anti virus. But $4 and you don't have to worry about it. (or at least I hope it was 4 bucks-it was some other form of currency-maybe Euros????)

they get fixed but it takes time. Some of these ROM makers don't even have our phone (thats how goos they are). They cook a ROM and ask us to tell them whats wrong and they fix as needed. Eventually they will be close to 100% stable. And more and more people will come out with ROM's. So you either have to play the waiting game or jump in and live with the quirks.....(yes, I know the "waiting game" sucks!!!!!!!!)

I have the understanding that you will have to use a different computer to flash another phone, for some reason you cannot use the same pc or the same file that you've downloaded. I tried this too for a friend and it works only if you redownload the hard spl file to another computer and make sure you are not using the same internet ip address you have to use another service. for some reason their database keeps track of the ip address that was initially used. I was successfull doing it at anotherlocation.

I D/L' and installed the hspl file from the same computer, had no issues. I donated after I had it up and unlocked, just makin' sure first. I was tethered for the DL if it makes any diff.

Question: When the re-locker comes available and I want to return the phone. Which rom do I load? the 3.04 rom? or is there a way to load the original rom if I want to switch phones later on.

Just load the 3.04. It is a shipped update. No worries with a VZW update ROM. Sent 2 back with on there. I now need the use the re-locker now which is posted on her site..... ](*,)

Has anyone used the re-locker? I just down loaded it. But if I do need to use it, it would give me piece of mind to know that it has been used successfully and whether or not the procedure is difficult.

Of course I am assuming that Mrs. C has used it successfully -but I am talking about us just regularly somewhat computer literate people.

So- any reports back would be appreciated.

I have used the relocker because I had a issue with the screen calibration settings and unit was replaced, the process is simple and painless, just install 3.04 rom and then run relocker, relocker only takes only about 30 seconds and the process is similar as unlocker.. Just follow these instructions:

How to reflash Stock/Shipped SPL: - STEP BY STEP - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!

0. please make sure you already flashed stock ROM and radio, because stock SPL flash is *always* the last step before sending the device in.
1. download the Whitestone Relocker by clicking here, extract the zip and run the EXE on your PC
2. if you wish to replace RUU_Signed.NBH that got extracted, feel free to do so, but not necessary (this Hard-SPL will only allow overwrite with a SPL made by us). the included one is the 0.39.0000 stock SPL. 3. flash
4. verify if it flashed by checking version in tricolour screen, it should say 0.39.0000, not 1.01.OliNex.

Imagio Brethren: I just got my replacement Imagio (stuck End key on the first one) this week. It came with the 3.04.605.7 OEM ROM. I've tried unlocking this one as with my first -- but I keep getting the tricolor screen (bootloader spl 0.39.0000) then the progress bar sticks at 0% before the Win updater app times out. I made a donation earlier in the day and that took care of the "no device" error message. Thoughts? This bloated ROM is driving me nuts! Many thanks, Landlocked

I know a problem that I have a lot. For me -many of these .exe files for my phone won't run unless I right click on them and choose to "Run as Administrator". You can give that I try. Hope you get it figured out.

Oh yeah - I am 99.99% sure it has to be unzipped.
