Battery problem

Never had a problem with battery, a charge would last 24hr easily. All of a sudden it goes dead in 8hr. ? The only app I put on the phone was the one that made my phone a wifi router,(didn't know it doesn't have wifi), and delete it the app, after that is when I noticed the battery going dead fast. Had the phone about 1 year. Could this be the battery or that app that might not have completely deleted and continues to run?

You can check for this by using a task manager included with the stock HTC Sprint ROM for WinMo v6.1 on Vogue, not the task managers that are easy to get at, but the one in your \Windows\ folder named taskmgr. There's also a shortcut named TaskMgr, and both have a sort of graph icon with green colors. Tap either to get a true listing of all running apps, as well as ability to stop any. Most importantly in your case, the Menu has a View option that'll allow you to see what Processes are using what percent of CPU activity.

Checked the task manager, no apps running, is it time to get a new battery, or will a hard restart cure the problem?

Might help but then you would have to set everything back up again. I suggest you get an extended life battery like the 1500mah or the 2000mah type. You won't be sorry. I have the 2000 and I really love it. PM guitardoc and ask him if he has a battery for sale. He had one but it may be spoken for.
