Re: Android On Vogue - n00b Guide

I am using a 4gig and its working great. I installed zen's hero room and after fixing the loop problem, its working good, the only thing is speed... the UI is fairly slow compared to 1.5, which just flies.

BTW... I fixed the looping problem by adding the " lcd.density=160" to the default.txt file.

Given the fact that I'd like my OS to run fast, I'd like to know whether I should use the zen hero build or some other 1.5 build. If so, where can I find a fast 1.5 build that lets me use just about all of Android's features? I'm definitely a noob, so a link/filename would be great. Thanks in advance to any kind person that takes pity on me and helps out!

Try the zen hero build listed on the first page. It will only take minutes to get it up and running and you can decide for yourself. It really is my favorite build so far and by far the easiest to install.

Does it run fast enough to be considered "smooth" or will I be experiencing choppy graphic transitions and long load times?

Re: Android On Vogue - n00b Guide

Zens build is great, I've been fooling around with it a little bit. One thing thats weird, sound does not play through headphones?
I was at work and almost got a warning (serious because I started 3 weeks ago and 2 warnings and you're fired) because the sound did not play through the headphones but rather through the speaker. :S
Is this known? It was the low battery and notification noise that blasted through the speaker. Is there a fix?

Re: Android On Vogue - n00b Guide

I have my builds hosted at vogue-hero. If you want to try the latest hero the JACxHeroski1.6 release it's on that site. There are also two non hero builds there as well. I use JACMANxROM or CyanogenMod when I'm not playing around with hero. All these "roms" are ported from the G1/dream so credits go to just another crowd and cyanogen.

Re: Android On Vogue - n00b Guide

Hi all,

I tried the jackman and Hero and it's running very slow on my Touch compared to the offical android 1.5 release. Any ideas?

I love the remapped keys of the ROM on the first page of this thread, but it is slow.

I'm not sure. I haven't had a problem out of it. Maybe it depends on your ROM running underneath? I'm using NFSfan's v14 right now. What ROM is everyone else running?
