doesn't leaving GPS on cause a device.exe error when the phone turns off? I could swear that if the GPS is on and the phone goes to sleep, upon awakening, you are greeted with the device.exe error message.

Has there been a workaround to this?

Re: Turn GPS onand Off

Are you guys SURE BAF GPS Toggle only allows you to view GPS signals: It sure appears to me that it actually turns GPS on and off based on my experience; MY GPS apps only work if I use BAF GPS to toggle it on and off. I'm still looking for some suggestions here also on something that isn't a Today plugin.

BAF is a Today screen plugin, which is covered up by Pointui, and HTC Gps tool slows down my whole phone when I used it. I would really like some program I can tap on and off. Thanks guys. I've searched but haven't found anything other than these 2.
Never turn it off & why would you need to?

Never encountered that problem even with the stock VZW ROM. When I turn my phone off the GPS turns off because when I turn it back on TomTom has to aquire a signal again. This is without using aGPS though but still why turn off the GPS?

Re: Turn GPS onand Off

I was under the impression that leaving the GPS on sped up battery drain. Turning it off increases battery life.

I gathered this info by reading the board here; is this a urban myth?
