Help with Bluetooth connection

hello, I had to reload xp on my laptop and now when I go to sync thru bluetooth, all I get is the serial port on available connections. Before I redid my laptop when I went to setup the connectoin it gave my Activesync as a choice. Now no matter what I do I cannot get activesync to come up as a choice for avaialbe bluetooth services. What am I doing wrong, how do I fix this?

Re: Help with Bluetooth connection

Not certain, but it could be the ComPort setting on your laptop. When you go inside Windows Mobile Device Center, under connection setting, try changing the bluetooth to COM7 or COM6. This fixed my issue on a Toshiba laptop.

Re: Help with Bluetooth connection

I think the issue is that Windows does a terrible job of communicating that Activesync is available via bluetooth. Basically you have to create a bluetooth serial port in XP then edit the registry to tell Activesync to use that port, then pair from your Vogue to the XP machine and you should see Activesync.

Here's a thread that explains it in more detail. It's for Vista but the idea is the same.
