Sprint Touch on Verizon

Ok, I'm very close here.
Here's what I've done.
1) Sucessfully changed ESN of sprint touch to ESN on existing vzw phone (since vzw wouldn't activate it)
2) Installed the verizon ROM successfully
3) I dial *228 and get a message "This account is not authorized..."

So what did I miss? Do I need to program manually? Is the PRL missing or incorrect?

UPDATE: I looked in device info and I'm seeing PRI version is 0 - this is probably what's wrong but i'm not sure how to fix it?

vzw no longer lets non vzw phones on the network through the *228 loop hole. I did it a few months back with *228 option 3 and then entering the passcode... but that loop hole is now closed. I even heard of a few people thinking that vzw is finding some of us and removing those phones from the network and making us use a vzw phone..... if your phone works and its a non vzw phone running on vzw network dont try to put another phone on it wont let you put back the non vzw phone that worked before.

Ok.. but by changing the ESN, doesn't it look like a vzw phone to verizon? How would they know the difference?

I got this working mostly but have a couple of outstanding issues I'm hoping someone here can help with.
1) The phone shows roaming all the time, but I don't believe it is, strong EVDO signal. I've updated to the latest PRL, I've heard this my be an issue with the PRI, how do I update/correct that?
2) It seems a data connection is required for MMS? Is this true or can I get MMS (Picture messages) without a data plan?
3) I haven't had verizon in a couple of years but I know we could use a WAP proxy in the past and get "Free WAP" is this still possible?

Flash on an official Verizon ROM if there is one. Let customizations run. That should give you your PRI version for Verizon.

I had done this several times, what fixed it was the "Update PRI" button in settings.

good to know. i have had mine for about 8 or 9 months now. and i wont be doing it again.
