Re: Clear this up for me plz

i downloaded ur cab file to disable agps and and the nodata.cab to disable any data connection. I also went into advance configuration tool to disable GPRS auto attach which im not sure it really matters or not, i read the discription and seemed safer if i disable it.

gprs is not for cdma, so it does nothing at best.

See I thought it didn't really do anything,
but never looked into it since I first got my windows mobile phone,
and I forget irrelevant info, since I couldn't remember anything about it,
that should have told me right there it had nothing to do with cdma.
Thanks for the info bro.
You get yourself a thanks.

I'm in a thanks kinda mood right now. lol

I thought the gps was connected to a totally different service and unlocking it would allow me to use its service for free

or is it too good to be true and its just a stupid misconception i had because im really a cheapskate :P
couple of questions...
did you upgrade to 6.5 from 6.1 Official?
did you have to upgrade your radio and all that prior to 6.5?

yeah I downloaded the stock Bell 6.1 Rom from htc which contained updated radio and all that enough to be unlocked and then followed the steps to using icokeman's unlocker. The unlocker will also install his bootloader which allows you to flash to other ROM. Then i proceeded all to carelessly (but thank god it worked) to flashing to 6.5

You don't have to upgrade your radio, if it works, it works.
As long as it is a 3.XX.XX radio you should be fine.
I recommend flashing your carrier's stock rom, and not a differen't carrier's stock rom due to relocking and warranty issues.
If you ever have to relock and flash your stock rom back to return it to the store, you'll potentially brick it due to downgrading radios.
That's why I personally stick with my carrier's newest radio.

Re: Clear this up for me plz

yeah but my radio before was version 2.xx something so i had to update it.

my 6.5 was from this thread (21725)
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=69530

I would of used bell's rom if it was available back then, is it even out now?

on a further note, i discovered that the gps ability of my phone seems to be decreasing everytime i use it, when i first disabled agps i would still get a lock (the longest was just after 5 mins) then it seemed be having a harder time to find a lock

I ran the htc gps tool and it ddnt have any troubles detecting gps satellites at all, my com is set to 4 and baudrate 57600
