Its common and no worries , PRL stands for Perferred Roming List

The Preferred Roaming List (PRL) is a file located inside your handset used to acquire both the Sprint network and Sprint roaming partner's network for you while you are roaming off the Nationwide Sprint Network or Sprint Mobile Broadband Network. Sprint updates the PRL a few times a year to provide you with new domestic digital roaming coverage or with international roaming coverage, or to make other necessary adjustments.
You should seek a PRL update if you receive a text message on your phone telling you to call *2 for an update or receive a letter from Sprint to update.
A PRL update will not:

• Improve signal strength on Sprint Network or off network roaming areas
• Help with dropped or blocked calls, or coverage holes
• Help with wireless Web issues
• Correcting misrouted calls when roaming

To update your PRL, perform the following steps:
NOTE:
You can only update your PRL while you are on the Nationwide Sprint Network or Sprint Mobile Broadband Network.
1. Dial *2, and then press Talk. 2. Tell the Customer Care agent that you need a PRL update. 3. Dial *2 again to receive the update by listening to a brief message. 4. Once the message is complete, hang up. Your PRL is updated.

Just a heads up for anyone running the pre-release versions of WinMO 6.5

I had to revert back to a Stock Sprint ROM to update the PRL.. auto update, manual update and even contacting CS and them transferring me to tech support proved fruitless in updating the PRL - now on the other hand versions of custom ROMs running WinMO 6.1 are able to update as well so no worries there.

So now that its updated, back to WinMO 6.5 I go ... LOL

I'm using NFSFAN WM6.5 and i did the update manually, according to the first page on this thread , on about getting the MSL code and then updating the PRL manually.

P.S. i see more bars and streaming is...about the same...There must be a difference on the new PRL somewhere.

Well mine is on an older PRL still, and I can't seem to figure out how to manually update. Someone said something about the first page of the thread, but I see nothing about how to manually update it there! I have my MSL code, and have tried some various things like ##PRL# that I've seen around, but that just says "the number you have dialed..." blah blah...

Why should something so essential be so difficult to update? Still hunting around, I've installed the cab for prl/profile updates and just get an error 1012 when I try to do those... nothing seems to work. I do have some coverage holes, and since my PRL is older than the EVDO rollout in my area (which happened earlier this year) am thinking that could help to update it.
