Mute Ringtone except for certain person?

Hi,

Is there a way to have the phone on silence, except for a certain person? When that person calls the phone should ring. I always turn my phone off at night, but would like to be reachable by a certain people 24/7

Services like GrandCentral can do that, but I'm not aware of a way to do that in the phone itself.

Spb Software Phone Suite would do it. You can set the filter to block all calls except the "White List" www.spbsoftwarehouse.com

Just a thought for a free solution: Maybe you could create a very small wav or mp3 file (using Audacity if you don't have a program) that's just a few seconds of silence. Then just set that as your main ringer. Then edit the contacts that you want to hear with an audible ringer. Definitely not pretty nor the easiest solution but it would definitely be free.

If you turn your phone Off it doesn't even matter no calls will conme through as the phone is off. or do you mean you just put the phone to sleep instead of hardOff?

If sleep mode is what you mean then I see one downside -- every call you get would ring silent even ones you may want but are not set individually to an audible ring. Unless you adjust your main ringer in the morning every day and put on silent at night every night. Kind of annoying but it may be right for you.
