Just a thought for a free solution: Maybe you could create a very small wav or mp3 file (using Audacity if you don't have a program) that's just a few seconds of silence. Then just set that as your main ringer. Then edit the contacts that you want to hear with an audible ringer. Definitely not pretty nor the easiest solution but it would definitely be free.
