Re: Fastest Rom!?

meaning the more software on it??
anyway for anyone who's curious...going through Verizon's website worked for me to re-activate my phone after flashing just now...I had to activate an old phone (again, wait for whatever reason a little while, just less than 8hrs) and then re-activate the newly flasehd phone this morning in a few minutes. immediately activated and worked after esn switching on vzw site and *228 programming.

Re: Fastest Rom!?

here's the other interesting thing... i find flashing to be a pain (easy process, pain to wait and do over and over and lose contacts, etc.)

i generally can't tell how fast the phone is and how i like it until i've used it for a few weeks...

how often does everyone flash their phones?
does anyone use any backup software (contacts, etc.) they like?

Re: Fastest Rom!?

By the way...term "speed" can define many things.U can get "speed" by changing 1 reg entry in touchflo.some people call it "speed",some call it extra sensitivity...you can change pagepool to get speed, you can put d3d driver to get speed....I just flashed to famous NSFAN ROM and what? BT OFF,only active sync running and cpu 49%?I can imagine how its gonna act filled with applications...
You can speed-up or slow down any ROM with a little bit of knowledge!!!!
what about battery?

Absolutely! JD's was THE fastest, least bloated, very lean and solid ROM I have ever used. Just writing about it makes me want to re-flash over an excellent M2D ROM from OMJ. The "Ooooo - Ahhhh" fascination is wearing out....

Re: Fastest Rom!?

I would say to cook your own using the ppckitchen. Use the unofficial 21018 base which you can find on this forum. Find or make oems for those programs (google maps and skyfire are included with the kitchen) and cook it with just those. Set the pagepool to 24mb using the kitchen and flash the custom rom. Once flashed do all the common registry tweaks. it will not get any lighter or faster than that.

IMO this is the fastest ROM. If you don't want to use M2D, just disable it:

Re: Fastest Rom!?

Cooking your own rom with all your programs OEMed in is essentially the fastest you can get it. I have my pagepool at 32mb, installed a bunch of system tweaks, and then put all the common registry entries and my rom is lightning fast for everything it has on it. So I say just cook your own. haha
