Yup, that is the Diamond, and lucky u lol. I filed a claim for my Touch over 3 weeks ago due to my screen cracking, and when I did it online I was told that I was getting a refurbished Touch, but I haven't paid the deductible yet because I have a friend who is a tech at my local store and offered to replace my screen for free, but he's just waiting to get ahold of a spare lcd screen. Now I see everybody on here getting Diamonds as replacements, so I wonder if I call Asurion and pay the deductible, will they still send me another Touch, or will they go ahead and upgrade me to the Diamond?

i filed claim online end of feb, said they were gonna replace with same touch, so I didnt complete it lol, just closed the browser, tried today now it says that. LOL

So they are replacing with the diamond right now, means there aren't any touches to send out, you should call asurion's number and just ask them, say your friend just got his replaced with a diamond and you want one too, and pay that $50.

I love my touch it was a great device, but the diamond is so much better, it actually does most everything it's supposed to and super fast and smooth. All of the diamond stuff that we put on our touches actually works with no sluggishness and freezing.

One of the best "little" things that's been a problem in my 6700 6800 6900 was the phone sound and key pushes lagging unless you turned off the key tones, well the Diamond phone works perfect keys and tones are instant it's like heaven.

The Touch is still a great device don't get me wrong. :mrgreen:

Same here. Brand New! Loving it so far, unlocked and flashed a custom Rom almost immediately.

I'm loving it too! I had the pro before but it was too big (girl hands), so this is like the best of both worlds. I want to flash, but I've never done that so I'm kinda freaked I'll mess the phone up.


Back on topic, I've heard others say they're still getting touch refurbs from sprint. Is it different Asurion than sprint? I mean I know its a separate co. but I also heard they ship from the same warehouse.

Does anyone know if replacing a phone via insurance affects your phone upgrade schedule at all? Meaning if I get a Diamond from this, will it push out my 2 year upgrade pricing?

Filing an insurance claim does not extend your upgrade eligibility..

As far as the Touch is concerned, once it hits it's end of life (no more new or refurbs left), only then will they be replaced with the Diamond. Some people are able to get the Diamond upgrade via a claim, but it is a hit or miss..

My claim replaced me with another Touch two weeks ago, only Asurion sent me a refurb touch that was already activated on another account. Because I couldn't get it activated, they sent me a Diamond as an apology. As far as I know, there are still a few more Touch's out there.
