Going to replace my screen. HALP!
So I picked up my touch about an hour ago and the screen was done.
![]() ![]() I began looking into replacement screens and found a couple on eBay... Option 1: $40, from china, 99.1% positive, pics of tools, offer assistance http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-LCD-Screen-F...QQcmdZViewItem Option 2: $48, also china, 99.4% positive http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-P3050-VERIZO...QQcmdZViewItem I found a video of the replacement and it looks simple enough. Has anyone else done this successfully, or know anyone who has? |

Re: Going to replace my screen. HALP!
Are the screens the same for all models or is there a difference? I have an MP6900, here is the only auction that says that specifically.
http://cgi.ebay.com/LCD-Screen-for-H...2em118Q2el1247 The other 2 auctions I posted were for the p3050 or xv6900. |

Re: Going to replace my screen. HALP!
Well, I ordered the $40 one. I am hoping that the auction talking about different models was talking about gsm and cdma, and not 2 different cdma models. Ill post install pics and results once i get it. In the mean time, please post and advice if you have experience doing this. Thanks!

Go over to xda-developers and go into the elf forum. There is an awesome tutorial on how to disassemble. Its a sticky so its easy to find. Real clear pictures and step by step directions.

Re: Going to replace my screen. HALP!
Success! Let me tell you that the 5 seconds between pressing the start button, and the time the htc logo comes up was possibly the longest 5 seconds in my life. It was pretty easy, my only hangups was getting the board off of the chassis, and getting all the buttons lined back up when putting it back on. Hopefully the screen lasts for a year or more. I will post an update here if it craps out again. If anyone finds this in a search feel free to contact me for more info.
