How do I prepare my HTC Touch for sale?

I just did a hard reset on it and did the initial setup but its still connected to my phone number and i can make calls. How do I get all my information out of the phone?

If you have alltel/verizon do this:

dial ##000000
from the activation wizard change all values to 0's and then press ok to restart the phone, and you are done.

If you are on Sprint do this:
copy down your ESN number (with CAPS)
download getspc here http://www.5gmobile.us/mobilefiles/VX6800/GetSPC.zip
run getspc enter your ESN and it will give you your msl (six digit number)
dial ##XXXXXX (X's are the number from getspc)
from the activation wizard change all values to 0's and press ok to reset

and your done.

You used your MSL, right? not your 6 digit phone #?

Which carrier are you using?

On Verizon you can do the following...
Dial ##778 and hit <SEND>
Choose <EDIT> on the screen that pops up
Enter 000000 (6 zeros)
On the screen that comes up (DISPLAY) click on MSID and choose <EDIT> from the bottom right menu. Change to a 0.
Then click on VIEW INFO on the bottom left menu.
Choose NAM SETTINGS
Edit any field in there that has your number in it to a 0.
Then from bottom left menu choose SECURITY
Change any fields in there that have your number to a 0.
Press OK at top right and phone will reboot.
Once this is done I'm pretty sure there is no longer a link to your phone.

I sold it on craigslist, im just afraid to drop it off cause i cant get my number out of it.

Any other suggestions?

I'm pretty sure with the Sprint Touch you will need to do the same steps I listed for the Verizon XV6900. However, instead of using 000000 to get into the menu you will have to do what someone listed above to get the unlock code (MSL)....

If you are on Sprint do this:

...after this just follow the steps I listed and enter the MSL the program gives you. This should let you in I think.

WOW! worked perfect. I have a Sprint Vogue that I had flashed to Alltel but it was still not allowed on the network, now with this info I was able to change the home SID/NID and the Home MSD - Volia, we are agian a happy Alltel user. Thanks for the info.
