Here is the very latest update from Verizon. Yes,you let the customizations run. Done both of my phone without any problems. Just dial *228,update 2,then repeat update 1

Do you run GPS software like Tom Tom or iGo? If so do these work given the fact the GPS is locked down? Thanks, Steve |

Re: Verizon XV6900 Firmware Update
I've got it loaded right now without the customizations. I have NFSFAN's 1.10 Verizon ROM and did the aGPS fix. I can receive 10+ satellites, but I can't get a fix yet (I believe its because I have the data plan blocked).
I will try loading something like Tomtom or Igo8 over this weekend to see if they work since they use map data. I've heard different stories as far as GPS working without a data plan, most of them say it can't. The radio is bumped up to 3.37.78. Anthony |

Re: Verizon XV6900 Firmware Update
Guys you can update with the new official Verizon ROM and then follow the instructions on the bottom of this page where it says Verizon MR1 GPS Instructions. This will enable the GPS to work with Live Maps, Google Maps, and the likes. It works flawlessly...and all you have to do is verify a few settings, run a cab installer and you're good to go.

Re: Verizon XV6900 Firmware Update
Just downloaded and installed the aGPS fix - guess I need to step outside for a smoke and test!
