htc vogue gps??????

I currently am running htc vogue on Telus stock 6.1 rom. i don't want to use telus Navigator as it costs 10.00 month. and i don't like it. is it possible to activate the gps and instal mapping without unlocking my phone?

you can use Microsoft Live Search or Google Maps
If you have an external bluetooth GPS device, then you can pair them and use Tomtom
I have all 3 on my phone and they all work great. But each one has their advantages, MS live is cool for the speech search. Google maps, works as a stand alone GPS and with a BT gps but lacks the directional speech. Tomtom, well theres a fine little software, but it takes up a lot of the phone battery.

Why not unlock the phone? battery life sucks or at very least is short using BT. Been there done that. Plus the BT GPS. Now you got to carrie it around too, Worry about it's battery too. I use Igo8 with turn by turn speech, Buildings, terra, speedcam warnings, and speed limit warnings.

BT GPS = 50 to 100 bucks! Unlocked Phone = PRICELESS

I dont know how telus is but im with Bell and I didn't need to unlock my phone to use TT7. You dont need a BT GPS receiver when you got one built it your phone that works great...and for free...

But yea, I agree with the guys above, unlock your phone and flash a custom rom... you'll be happy that you did... NFSFAN's rom is GREAT!

Yes as long as there is a available upgrade supported by your network or htc as long as you have a Radio that is 3.xx.xx then you are GPS ready...You do not have to unlock your phone to achieve GPS!!!
