Re: Newb question on buying a Touch for Sprint
no! sprint is CDMA while sim card carriers are gsm. So short answer it is impossible without buting one with a sim card slot which none of the phones on this site have. check over at xda-developers.com

Re: Newb question on buying a Touch for Sprint
Ah ok thanks for the quick response. I've been a gsm guy (but always htc), so I know nothing about CDMA. Just trying to figure out a way to get her this phone, since she has a crap freebie phone and wants something nice. Thanks again for the help.

Re: Newb question on buying a Touch for Sprint
no problem this is mainly a cdma forum while xda is gsm. cdma does not take sim cards rather we have a number on the back of the phone we have to call in to activate

Re: Newb question on buying a Touch for Sprint
NinjaKnight: This is actually a pretty simple thing to do.
If you get a HTC Touch made for the Sprint network, all that has to be done is to call Sprint and they will walk you/her through removing her present phone from the network and activating the new phone to the network. I've changed phones many times and it's never been a problem. If you get the phone through Ebay be sure it's for the Sprint network. |

Re: Newb question on buying a Touch for Sprint
If you get one from ebay, also make sure the seller states that it has a clean ESN. Sprint marks the ESN as bad and will not activate a phone reported missing or stolen, or one from a delinquent account.

Re: Newb question on buying a Touch for Sprint
The OP states his girlfriend is on Sprint. He also says he is a GSM guy. Looks like he needs basic info and doesn't know about CDMA at all.
