Re: Duplicate Contacts In Touch
Sounds like a Dashwire issue, considering its still beta. I would search for an answer with them. The site actually suggests you install and sync Dashwire after you sync with Outlook.
Here's a start. http://dashwire.com/help/outlook http://dashwire.com/help/issues#Cont...tingduplicated I |

If you have it setup to sync with outlook you can select multiple contacts to delete on your computer, then active sync again

Re: Duplicate Contacts In Touch
Duplicate Remover for Outlook from Mapi labs.
Activestink does this to me a couple times a year and it's a major pain to clean it up manually. If it's just your contacts and you don't have a lot of them, just display your contacts in desktop Outlook in a list, then go through and select the dupes and delete them.

Re: Duplicate Contacts In Touch
The other day I connected my phone to WMDC on vista after syncing with a Activesync 4.5 machine at work. WMDC said uh oh, you can do that and removed all my contacts on my phone.
Another quick way is to export contacts to a file on your desktop outlook, then delete all of them in desktop outlook. When you go to reimport them back in, outlook should ask you what you want to do with dups. If you do this, use the Windows (CSV) format.

Re: Duplicate Contacts In Touch
I too had this issue I had triplicate's on my phone and my dashwire account had doubles. Horribly annoying. :-p I was lucky though was reflashing my rom so no manual clean up except on dashwire.

Re: Duplicate Contacts In Touch
Ha - I saw your post on the MS site, too funny! Talk about suddenly disowning you.. they didn't have much to say after letting the cat (rom) out of the bag.
Anyways, the issue I had was mostly me not thinking and deleting the partnership prematurely, so I'm not quite in the same boat you with this 100 error. I've seen this described on the net somewhere in some forum but don't recall there was a solution (real helpful huh?).. Is your work and home pc using the same version of outlook? Also, have you enabled/disabled the "advanced networking functionality" on settings/connections/usb to pc? I looked around on google with the 0x8 error you posted and found some interesting things but nothing concrete. I did however run across a nugget of information on an xda post. Their not reporting the same 100 issue but they are getting the 0x8. It's 10 pages but worth the read. Some folks have managed to work with the pst to fix the issue. The last couple of pages had some good info. It might be worth a try. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377823 Personally, it sounds as if something has become corrupted in the pst somewhere. But it may be very time consuming to track down. If the new pst thing from xda does not work you might be better off hard resetting. I searched google for a while to find a definative answer to removing wmdc completely and you're right nothing concrete outside of simply add/remove progs... Either there's not much or I'm just tired and can't read. However, here are a couple of links that may help: http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/wmdc/t-shoot-wmdc.htm Edit: ok this link worked like five minutes ago and now i can't get it to load. I'll try again later. http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/589207.htm Let me know if any of this works out or if anything changes as a result. Last edited by coob; 08-13-2008 at 02:41 AM. |

Re: Duplicate Contacts In Touch
someone posted this file for me a few days ago, just install it on your phone, and open it up from programs, it will search your contacts for duplicates, then confirm you want to delete the doubles. took me about a minute.
