About to give up on flashign roms... help!!

I'm normally a brave guy, and I'm willing to try a lot of new things with my phone. I really hate to say it, but flashing roms is starting to spook me a little bit. I'm getting my Touch Pro this Christmas, and from the way things look now, I'm never letting any new rom get near my Pro, custom or not.

I really hope somebody can help me out. I don't wanna give up custom roms, but my Altell HTC Touch has downgraded significantly from the first rom I flashed to, and nothing I've tried has been able to restore it back to it's former glory.

Before flashing, my phone:
1. Had a smooth camera, and took EXCELLENT pictures and videos (they were only slightly worse than the Diamond pics I've seen on this forum)

2.The OS (WM 6.0) was quick enough, and even the battery life was good after I got Seidio's 2000mAh battery.

3. I was able to pack TONS of games on this thing, and play them all with no problem, no matter what game it was (except Call of Duty 2, which I didn't want anyway). My only problem was the minor slowdown of the phone when the touch screen was pressed, and that was REALLY easy to overlook.

Thinking that the official WM6.1 upgrade would be better somehow, I decided to upgrade. And this is what changed on my phone:

1. The camera was extremely choppy, and only ran smooth with ideal lighting conditions. Thank goodness the picture quality is still roughly the same. The video camera is ruined... the vids record as choppy as the camera runs.

2. The OS is quicker than 6.0 (without an overclock), but about 85% percent of the games I have will slow my phone down TO A CRAWL. After closing a game, nearly any other program I run will freeze. (I did some research on this issue, and I found that my games aren't really closing, because they show up as running processes in certain task managers. None of these task managers will close the games; it always gives me an error).

I've tried flashing different roms, but none of them helped these issues. I used:

1. Conflipper's vogue rom (this is an AWESOME rom!!)
2. Super stable Crystal V.4 rom
3. OMJ's Diamond version rom
4. Official Altell 6.1 upgrade rom (this is where my problems started)
5. Dette's Diamond version 2.3 rom (this is the one I'm currently using)

I don't think any of the custom roms caused these problems with my phone, because I successfully unlocked my phone before flashing to any of them. I found a Windows Mobile Altell 6.0 rom and tried to flash back stock, but I don't think that this is the right rom, because there's a new feature on there that I didn't have when I was running my stock rom (it's the feature where you can touch the icons on the top right and get the icon window).

I don't wanna just deal with these problems into Christmas and drop this phone for the Touch Pro, because I'm giving my phone to my sister for Christmas (it'll be her first smartphone), and I don't want her to have to deal with this.

You, my beloved, intelligent, awesome, able-to-fix-nearly-any-issue PPCGeeks family, are my last hope. I really hope you can help me turn my phone back into the device I love again. If you can't, then PLEASE send me the real, stock Altell WM6.0 rom that comes with the Altell HTC Touch. Not the official 6.1 rom. The 6.0 one.

Iv got the last official alltel 6.0 update but its 68mb and its to large to post. I dont have a rapid share account or megaupload. You might try sending Conflipper a PM and see if he can get it to you. I dont understand your problem at all. I read your other thread and Im begining to think its a hardware issue, maybe you should try warranting it,(or insurance)

Okay, so I tried stock, and it works like it should. The games run and close properly, and everything works fine.

So then I know it's not my phone. It's gotta be something wrong with the way it responds to WM 6.1 or something. The main issue I have is that I can't close games on 6.1. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Man! Thats weird, you have the exact same phone and carrier as me and mine works perfect. All I know is I make sure my battery is at 100%>flash to Conflippers 10-21 ROM>let customizations run and phone restart>pull battery out for 3 minutes>hard restart>let customizations run and phone restart>hard restart again.
Seems like a pain in the butt but my phone always seems to run smoother if I do this. Some people say its not needed but I figure, whats it gonna hurt?

Any fix is wortha shot. Thanks! I'll see if this works for Dette's M2D rom, and if not, I'll try Conflipper's.

No dice with Dette's rom. It still can't close the game...

all you have to do is click the "X" in the corner and then hit the "X" on the task manager when it comes down...This should close it up...Or star>system >Task manager :hit stop all!!!

Wow, I really hope thats not your problem cause I was just assumeing that you knew that. you can also go to Start>Settings>SystemTab>TaskManager>ButtonTab and check the box that says end programs by tapping ''X''

thanks Yearn. I did already know that.

But I've tried the end programs by tapping X too, and it didn't work either. Even the task managers I downloaded didn't work. I'd click on the game process that was running and tap terminate. It would tell me that it couldn't be closed properly, and then it would ask me if I want to kill it. I tap ok ( the only choices are ok and cancel), and then a window with a red X pops up. When I tap ok again, the game doesn't close.
