ROM disabled my screens touch capabilities? Why?

Upgraded 6900 with Bell ROM (RUU_Vogue_BM_WWE_3.09.666.1_Radio3.42.50_Ship). Windows Mobile 6.1 was working fine at first and then the screen stopped responding to touch. I tried doing a hard reset and now the screen will load up to the WM 6.1 screen that tells me to tap screen to set up device but now when I tap the screen it turns off. Sometimes it will go to next screen (screen allignment) but still doesn't respond to touch. Been doing searches on this website and many others but I am not able to find anything.

Anyone ever experienced or heard of this before?

Any of you more experienced guys have some ideas?

Can this be because I haven't installed a custom ROM?

Few items...
1) Before installing ROM I used imcokeman 2.31 unlocker successfully.
2)I saw a tutorial on upgrading ROMs that said that you are bricked if your phone doesn't get past HTC start up screen but mine does so I'm thinking I'm not bricked. It shows the HTC logo and Bell logo screens along w/ the screen that shows your radio.
3)I didn't let the Bell customizations run. When it came up I performed a soft reset immediately.

One last thing that I just remembered was that when I was done installing the Bell ROM Windows Vista popped up a window that said that the software MIGHT not have installed correctly and then gave me a option to reinstall.

Update please view post 3 for details.

sorry to hear bout ur problem. Seems to me as if the rom is installing correctly. If you've had problems with the touch screen prior to the rom upgrade, it could be a hardware issue with the vx6900 itself. I would suggest maybe arranging for a swap through warranty.

However, im not sure if ur with sprint or bell. If ur with bell, you should have no problems having them switch out the phone for another one (of course, its fu**in refurbished though).

IF you are with bell, just call their technical solutions line, or when u dial *611 say technical solutions. It should take you to the right department, then u can tell the person there that u called earlier and they said they would setup a swap on the device , since they dont repair smartphones, they will send u a refurb in the mail. hope this helps

ROM disabled my screens touch capabilities? Why?

I actually have Verizon. There is no way Verizon would take this back and not charge me because when they power it on it shows the Bell splash screen. Is there a way I can change this?

FYI, I went ahead and installed a custom ROM since my first post; hoping it would fix the problem. Now it goes to the Windows Mobile 6.1 screen where it says "tap the screen to set up your Windows Mobile-based device" but the screen seems like it is no longer touch sensitive. I can hold down the power button for 3 seconds and then it pops up the screen that gives me a yes or no to power down the device. It will let me use the hardware buttons to go left and right and select which ever one but it still doesn't respond to touch.

Does anyone know how either the 2.31 unlocker, the Bell ROM, or a custom ROM could mess up the touch capabilities of my phone?

Someone please give me some ideas.

there isnt a way that either of those things could mess up the touch capabilities. installing a custom rom wouldnt do u any good if u have a hardware issue. Unfortunately, im not too familiar with verizon's policy of return/repair. But i doubt u have a software issue. I think what u can do is change the bootup splash screen to verizon's. this way u have something to fall back on
