Backlight keeps coming on without touching phone...

I'm assuming it's because I've got two IMAP accounts set to check every 10 minutes. Is there any way to not have the backlight come on every time they get checked?

Mine does this sometimes as well. But I've noticed it seems to be when the phone radio is switching between networks (Sprint -> Roaming or Roaming -> Sprint). That's the only time I've noticed it happening. I use SEVEN to push my email accounts so I don't use the Outlook IMAP directly and can't comment on whether or not that would make any difference.

not sure if this will work (as i don't check IMAP accounts), but under settings->today, check to see if the today timeout button is unchecked. this has solved previous random screen awakenings on certain roms..

Should it be checked or unchecked?

It was checked and the drop down said 4hrs.

By default, this value is checked. For some users, unchecking this box stopped the random screen wakes.. Again, for some users. Give it a shot!

I unchecked the box, but I'm still getting the random screen wakes. I'm in kind of a weak reception area, could that have something to do with it?

Absolutely! What happens is that everytime you aquire an actual signal, the screen wakes up. I haven't found a way to fix this yet. But in low reception areas, as you switch from roaming to an acutal 1x the screen will awaken.

This might be built into the system itself. Kind of like how we are able to get calls and txt with the screen off..

Hopefully someone can chime in a fix!

Well, it's a weak enough area that it's actually going between no service at all and a little service, but I suppose that's functionally the same thing as going from roaming to actual Sprint service.

I guess it's just something I'll have to learn to live with, for now.

This was happening to mine, but it was actually waking up to call the last number dialed (without any input from me) lol.

My replacement is in the mail.

I'll be replacing mine just as soon as the Touch Pro is available, just barely under the wire of my first 30 days back with Sprint.
