You do need to unlock using 2.31 unlocker if flashing any official rom that is not from your carrier. If you are going to flash the Sprint or Bell officials be sure to soft reset before the customizations run or you will have a hell of a time getting your internet to work. I did this and it took me weeks to get it working again.
