Phone dialing someone other than you select?

I'm using the official HTC Sprint 6.1 ROM and have noticed that sometimes after I am typing a name (on the keypad), selecting it, and hitting the d-pad to dial it dials someone completely different.

I will hit end go back and do it all over and it works fine. I find this really annoying although it happens infrequently but enough to piss me off when i start calling someone totally different than I had in mind.

Anyone else had this trouble? Do anything to resolve it? Thanks.

Re: Phone dialing someone other than you select?

I have had this happen a couple times over the last several months on my Titan. No idea why, or how to fix it, I have gotten into the habbit of checking very carefully if it is dialling the right person when I hit send.

Re: Phone dialing someone other than you select?

Happens on my touch fairly often. I have also dialed numbers not in my contacts and had it dial other numbers in my call list. Its really annoying when you accidentally call your ex gf and don;t notice until she answers.

Re: Phone dialing someone other than you select?

I think it has something to do with the smart dialing. It predicts which number you want to call, and if you dial too fast the wrong person could still be selected. I make sure I press up and down on the D-pad to make sure the right number is selected, then press the D-pad button.

Pull up the phone dialer. Go to Menu then Smart Dialing Options.

I have also seemed to notice if i click on the person I want to dial and then hold down on their name and select the number. I haven't had it go wrong on me yet. YET =]

I prefer using the smart dialer though. I have been looking at it very closely lately. It does appear to not alway reflect the person I want to dial even though they are highlighted.

I can tell for sure because the area codes differ and it will say New York while a Kansas number is highlighted.

I have just been going up and down once the person I want to dial is showing and that seems to help as someone mentioned above.
