Not wise! Why would you even want to? Perhaps it's time to read up once again about all the problems Vogue users have had with card coruption, and this is without any bold move like pulling it out during data transfer: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11404 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=18668 |

Agreed....NOT a good idea. There have been many documented and reported issues with MicroSD cards and the Vogue, and its widley suspected that the cause is related to having the phone going to sleep while accessing the MicroSD card, or ejecting it while accessing the MicroSD card. I would say as long as the cards not in use, its ok to eject it....I do it all the time and havent had an issue yet. However, I also make sure I am not playing music stored on the card or doing anything that requires access to the card.

thank you for the explanations, guys! ![]() I was just interested to know if there`s a formal safe way to deal with SD cards, `cause the existing practice does not seem to be safe to me ... it turn out, there is NONE ![]() this is strange, looks like a major design flaw in windows mobile.. did they just forget about it? BTW, with greatest disappointment (because I was going to get it, but not anymore) I learned that in HTC Touch Diamond there is NO extension slot - 4 GB internal, an not even a byte more ![]() maybe this is because of all these SD concerns? |

Re: Is MicroSD card hot-swappable?
I have two 8 gb cards and I hot swap them all the time, never during a transfer lol of course, but I have strictly MEDIA ONLY on both of them so they're not being accessed unless a media player is running. My windows vista laptop has a card reader and it has a quick remove option that allows you to just pull it out anytime without going to "safely remove hardware" as long as your not currently accessing it using any software. I have done this for 6 months now. And furthermore, all of the accounts i saw about the card corruption in the touch was in the old stock rom, it was a problem with software encryption in most cases. Now, that being said, I'm not saying I recommend hot swapping, but in my case I have nothing on the cards that couldn't be restored in a few minutes from my pc.
