Data connection doesn't want to restart after WM 6.1 upgrade

Ever since I installed the official, leaked WM 6.1/RevA upgrade to my phone, the data connection has been acting strange. If I go into an area where I have no connection (like an elevator), when I get back into a covered area, the data connection doesn't seem to restart automatically. The only thing I have found that fixes it is to go into Comm Manager and turn the airplane mode on and then back off, and that seems to reset the data connection. By the way, when I go to the Comm Manager when my Touch is doing this, the Data Connection is greyed out so that I can't turn it on or off. After I turn the airplane mode on then off, it comes back on.

This is a serious pain. It keeps the phone from getting weather updates, sync'ing with my Exchange server, and a bunch of other things. Any idea on what to do to fix this? It almost as though I need to get the data connection to be able to turn itself on on its own.

Also, any idea why I have no data connection in areas where I can receive phone calls and SMS messages without issue? Does the data connection require a better signal?

The radio ROM is the one that came with the leaked official WM6.1/RevA update. My current radio version is the exact same as the one on the latest official release.

Did you do a hard reset? I had the exact same thing- I had done some heavy goofing around with settings/advanced configuration so i don't know what happened. But hard resetting fixed it.

Did you use the advanced configuration tool? If so..... It seems to be causing issues on the touch.

Re: Data connection doesn't want to restart after WM 6.1 upgrade

Well, in response to the replies about updating the ROM, as I said, I already have the latest radio ROM, and the main ROM is very nearly the latest--I have 3.03.651.2 and the very latest (which is now up on the official HTC site) is 3.03.651.4.

As for doing a hard reset, I did that as part of the ROM update to WM6.1/RevA. I wouldn't expect to have to do a hard reset immediately after doing a hard reset.

Finally, I'm not sure what the advanced configuration tool is, so I guess I haven't used that.
