How exactly do you apply the hack?

Re: For those of you who have some problems roaming on the new rom..

Go into the registry in your phone and do the following:

1) Navigate to HKLM\Software\OEM\InitProv\PhoneSetting
2) Changethe value of ItemCount to 3
3) Add a new String value with name ItemName3 and value Roaming
4) Add a new DWORD value with name ItemValue3 and value 3
5) Reboot your phone

You will now see a Roaming option in the phone settings that lets you force roaming mode.

used your .cab file, worked great. Sprint customer svc said they could not help, but you could, and it's much appreciated. great .cab, sooo simple! thank you.

Re: For those of you who have some problems roaming on the new rom..

Sorry I'm slightly confused, I downloaded the cab but don't see a roam option in "settings". Do I still have to change the registry settings?

Just bumping this thread, I would like to know if you have to change the registry settings with this cab too.

Re: For those of you who have some problems roaming on the new rom..

I see no setting to change either. What's the word on this?

EDIT: Update on my status. I tried installing again and finally got the roaming option. However, after a day I lost all connectivity and couldn't get anything back. Had to hard reset. I may be the exception but I can't recommend this fix.

Re: For those of you who have some problems roaming on the new rom..

Just started using my HTC Touch Pro and was having the same problem with battery life and roaming. I installed the DCP file. How do you work with this program. How do you access the settings for it?

Re: For those of you who have some problems roaming on the new rom..

Works great on my Palm Pro, before, in my house, on automatic setting it would go back and forth between a steady roaming signal (verizon) and a weak sprint signal, dropping calls all day long . SO ANNOYING. now, I select the new roaming feature and it stays on the strong roaming signal AWESOME!!!

Great work, thanks for saving me future aggravation

Re: For those of you who have some problems roaming on the new rom..

does anyone notice that when you force it to roaming the data stays at 1X instead of going to EV. Then when i go back to sprint network EV works just fine. If my phone goes to roam on its own EV will work just not when forced.
