Re: GPS function why do they need Data connection? can someone point out?

Pjrey- I will also be using a Sprint Vogue without a data plan. Are you able to take or make calls while the GPS is active? I've read elsewhere that this is impossible. Is that true?

Re: GPS function why do they need Data connection? can someone point out?

Is GPS or more specifcally TT7 supposed to work in Flight mode?

From what I understand, if you close your data connection, the GPS should work under gps mode = 2?

Thanks

i'm using OMG's latest bell custom rom and this fixed my gps!

prior my settings where:
EnableAGPS=1
EnableGPSSmartMode=1
GPSMode=2

and it would work ... but it took like 20mins in a moving car to get a lock ... after yr changes i got a lock, here in my room, after about 1min. sweet!!

Re: GPS function why do they need Data connection? can someone point out?

actually i just changed them back after a soft reset ..and it now gets a lock within a few seconds.

seriously ..wtf.

but at anyrate, it's working after i fiddled with these settings and i upuntill tonight had not got a single lock outside of a moving car, or within 10 mins.

Bell just block GPS feature for Blackberry, you won't get accurate position unless you pay $10 for GPS Nav/month...........I think Bell did this through give wrong AGPS info to Blackberry, wondering if Bell will did same thing to Touch.
