Use Garmin XT

tried "home only", won't pick up GPS Signal at all, keep searching GPS Device
tried "flight mode" will work sometimes, then GPS freeze, have to reboot and put phone back in roaming mode.

"flight mode" for TomTom won't work at all

can someone point out?

HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS
EnableAGPS=0
EnableGPSSmartMode=0
GPSMode=1

my phone is set to the above and works great!
it never needs/or initiates a data connection... i can get locks in flight mode as well

yeah same here when in flight mode or modaco no data tomtom or igo wouldnt lock...
so the solution here is to have a registry hack to disable agps? did i get it right?

but how can I open the reg file? I know how to do in windows but not know how to do in windows mobile

you need a registry editor.. very easy.. do a little searching baby... registry editor PPC...rasco makes one..

ps. i get locks and i am currenly in an area with NO signal whatsoever.. no NOTHING... but i get locks with the reg edit...

after change registry to your settings, my Touch GPS won't work under Garmin/Google map has to switch back

i just used google maps tonight... and i have the above settings set... (i am in the country, wtih clear open skies) the GPS antenna is pretty weak...
try it again
EnableAGPS=0
EnableGPSSmartMode=0
GPSMode=1
and leave it by a window for 5 minutes...

Hello.. Just installed Garmin Mobile XT on htc toouch.. working fine get the lock in few seconds.. and maps copied on the sd card...and requried no data connection.. and intresting feature is.. it tells you if the gps is off and you can turn it on.. but with google maps i have to do a soft rest ..
