How do i improve my GPS locks

i am running the newest alltel stock rom

in gps viewer the satellites just flash(red), but never locks (blue)

i followed this tutorial - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24925

did i miss anything? is there anything i can add?
