What are your thoughts on Touch after Official ROM update?
I currently have the 6700 running WM 6.0. I like it, but would like something smaller and more capable. With the new ROM and the $70 price I can get the Touch for, it seems like a very capable unit for a very low price. I just don't know if its worth renewing a contract for or if I'd be able to get used to the keyboard, although I realize most who use it say they get used to it after a while.
For those who have it and who have installed the new ROM, I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. I'd also like to hear from those who went from the 6700 to the Touch. How simple of a switch was it to go from physical to virtual keyboard?
I went to a Sprint store and played with the Touch tonight. I've looked at them before, but never seriously considered getting one, so never looked too long. My main reason for wanting to play with one was to see what the new keyboard looks like, but the one on display still had the old ROM and the reps weren't very helpful with information about the new ROM.
I like the look, size, weight and feel compared to the 6700. I like that its WM 6.1 which I'm familiar with and can keep using my programs and settings and everything else. The Touch interface though, its definitely different and would take some time to get used to. I can't say I like or don't like it, its just different. It did seem to be a bit slow to respond to touches sometimes and other times it didn't respond on the first touch. But, considering its a demo, this doesn't surprise me.
How is the rf and call quality on the Touch? Also, would anyone be able to post a screenshot of the qwerty in the new ROM or a link where there is a pic?
Thanks!!!
