Lost browse contacts by letter with new Sprint ROM

I upgraded to the new sprint Rom and I no longer have the alphabet vertically on the right side of my contacts list (like the iPhone) and I can't remember if WM6.0 defaulted that way or if I added a program to add that feature.

I really miss it since scrolling through 350 contacts is a PIA (even with the 3 letter tabs across the top and alphabet scrolling if you hold down the D-Pad).

The letters on the right side are the most convenient and quickest way for me to get to the contact I am looking for.

Please help me out with getting the feature back.

Thanks.

Re: Lost browse contacts by letter with new Sprint ROM

That should be HTC Random Access. It was supposed to be included, there is a thread talking about the bugs in the new ROM and i think that is one of them. I do know that you have to have a full page worth of contacts before it will show. Ill try and find the thread.

This is called Random Access and you should be able to find a cab file to install. I honestly don't remember if it was included in the official release. If it is included in the release by HTC/Sprint, then sometimes you have to launch contacts, then actually close the contacts application via Task Manager and then the second time you launch contacts, it will show up.

Best regards,

Re: Lost browse contacts by letter with new Sprint ROM

to get em back go to contacts
then tap menu//options
UNcheck 'Show Alphabetical Index'
then hold down the X to close it
reopen, if it hasn't worked, reenable index, close contacts, open contacts, disable index, close, open... and so on until it does
mine worked first try

Thank you for the help.
Just for the record, I did try searching but without the term "HTC Random Access" I was unable to find help with the terms contacts, alphabet, index, etc.
