Re: GPS is stuck with a set of satellites - how to remove them from memory?
I've found that any setting I do in SURL AGPS has no effect on GPS performance.
After closing the GPS, one can see in the Debug screen that the GPS sats are not getting cleared... Seems like something that should be done when the GPS is closed. Also, it seems the GPS receiver is ignoring Cold/Warm/Hot start commands in GPS viewer as well. (I'm using 3.02 OMJ) Last edited by DaveOke; 07-26-2008 at 09:47 AM. |

Re: GPS is stuck with a set of satellites - how to remove them from memory?
for those interested, I've found a solution
(rather, a workaround) for the "stuck satellites" problem.. it is not new, in fact, and has been proposed to "fix standby issues": http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25407 "To get a GPS lock again reload the GPSID_QCT.dll. You can do this by using DOT Fred's Task manager, under Devices tab, and the device name is called GPD0." this works fine for me.... it seems that GPS loses its sensitivity either due to standby or due to some other reason - the "stuck" satellites all have SignalToNoiseRatio BELOW 30 dB (while for the lock one needs ABOVE 30 dB).. reloading GPSID_QCT.dll helps GPS chip to find some satellites with SNR > 30 dB voila.. |
