Re: i have the htc touch
That's what the advanced search is for.

Re: i have the htc touch
I have to agree to disagree on this one. The advanced search doesn't give much more for options needed to narrow down search results IMO. I'm not sure what could really be used to narrow down the results since there are sooo many different threads on this site.

Re: i have the htc touch
I have always been able to find what I am looking for here, without using the advanced search. I have been in IT for a number of years now and can tell you that it is not (normally) the search engine but rather the keywords that people are using.
It is always better to use short, concise words in your search. Basically, be direct and to the point, with as few words as possible. For the OP, a search of cube config puts the same linked answer from above on the first page of results. For the OP, a search of Sprint Touch Cube Config puts the same linked answer above on the first page of results, fifth from the top. For the OP, a search of Sprint Touch Cube edit puts the same linked answer above on the first page of results, fourth from the top. So before anyone jumps on the "Blame the Search Engine Bandwagon" please understand that, if used correctly, the search feature of this site works both correctly and accurately.

Re: i have the htc touch
Cybermonkey, I wasn't saying that anyone was on that bandwagon yet. I was just trying to help people understand how to correctly use the internal search feature of this site. While there are a lot of results to sift through when do you perform a search here, it is still very usable and useful. The title of the thread for the Config tool is Sprint Touch Cube Configuration Tool v4.1, which makes it very evident that is the right thread for anyone wanting to change the config of their cube. And on all three of the searchs I ran, it was on the first page of results.
A lot of the time people do a search, see all the results and instead of reading through them, they just post a question. I am not saying that the OP did that, but many people do. Again, I was only trying to help people understand how to use this site's search feature to the fullest extent. |
